Kim Kardashian has given birth to a baby girl ... TMZ has learned. Sources close to KK tell TMZ the baby and Kim are both in good health. We're told Kim delivered the baby at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center this morning (Saturday June 15th)... 5 weeks sooner than originally planned. Our sources say BF Kanye West was there for the entire thing. We're told Kanye cancelled his appearance at his own record release party last night when Kim told him she was feeling "a little off." It is the first child for Kim and Kanye.

NEWS UPDATE OF WIZKID'S CAR ACCIDENT EARLY TODAY

Wizkid was involved in an accident around 3: 30am this morning in front of GET Arena as he left the Nokia Lumia Beat party which held at the
Oriental Hotel in Lekki. Fortunately, the only thing damaged in the accident was the Porsche Panamera S car worth about N10m which he recently bought.
Wizkid and other passengers in the car were unhurt.

According to my paparazzi who witnessed the accident and took the photos, the accident was caused by a bust tyre. Wizkid, who wasn't the one driving, was quickly taken away in another car.
His bodyguard stayed behind to get the vehicle towed

UNIBEN STUDENT SHOT IN THE HEAD AT SCHOOL SPORT COMPLEX

A 200level Mathematics student of the University of Benin known as Snazzy was shot in the head by an unknown gun man around 2pm yesterday afternoon during the biometrics registration held in the university sports complex.

Eye witnesses say the gunman dropped the gun and disappeared into the crowd before he could be identified. Snazzy was immediately rushed to the University of Benin Teaching Hospital. Don't know for sure if he died or survived. Will update as soon as I have confirmation.

OBIORA OBIWON RELEASES TESTIFY ON HIS BIRTHDAY

The question making rounds around Social Media circles lately has been “Where is Obiwon?”. Finally, it gets an answer on the 9^th of June 2013, the 36^th birthday of the r’n’b-singer-turned-urban-gospel-minister, Obiora Obiwon.

In response to enthusiasts and lovers of his music, Obiwon returns as recording artiste with a techno-infused HipHop song entitled “Testify”. On the song he elicits the help of gospel music elite, Mike Abdul of the Midnight Crew, who adds a fuji-flavoured cameo to the already infectious groove. On the production, Obiora continues to synergize with Phat-E – credited with “Obi Mu O” the original version and the remix and the inspirational “F.a.t.h.e.r 2.0” single. The result is an undeniable jam filled with zest and celebration over strongly spirited but yet simple faith-based lyrics.

Obiwon who announced a full-time gospel music ministry five years ago in 2008 has steadily impacted the gospel music and Christian events scene nationwide with his “The Rebirth Band” and continues to play roles in the wedding events scene, roles not often showcased in mainstream media.

LAGOS  NOW HAS THE TALLEST HOTEL IN AFRICA

 

Expectations are high as the InterContinental Hotel in Victoria Island, Lagos, finally opens this month. At 100 metres high, the 23-storey building is the tallest in West Africa.


The InterContinental Lagos boasts 358 rooms. All rooms offer stunning views of views of either the Lagos Creek or the Atlantic Ocean. WHEN MEN CARRY THEIR GIRLFRIENDS HAND BAG, WHAT DOES IT MEAN?

In the picture of Zoe Saldana with her new boyfriend, he is carrying her handbag and that got me thinking. One often hears stories of men who say they would rather die than carry their wife's or girlfriend's handbag. Then there are those who don't really mind or wouldn't but fear being teased or thought to be less of a man if they did that.

A friend spoke of how after her husband helped her carry her handbag - she was carrying their baby and had to answer a phone call so handed hubby her coach tote - her own father who had also been there warned them seriously. She had to respectfully disagree with her dad, and her hubby spoke up too. The father was worried about gender roles, appearances of respect and what people would say. The couple on their part tried to emphasize that what mattered was their relationship and whether they understood each other. He was just helping.

Now, I don't want to make it seem like carrying a woman's handbag is like the ultimate of all symbols of love. The gesture, on its own, is not a definition or confirmation of love, but can be a way to show you care for your partner, PDA if you will.

The funny thing for me, or maybe not so funny, is the way some men look at female handbags like there was a contaminable disease they could get by carrying one. 

Zoe Saldana ended a 12-year relationship with an engagement to entrepreneur Keith Britton in 2011, which left her heartbroken. She rebounded in a short-lived affair with Bradley Cooper. Now she's with Italian artist Marco Perego. With all the PDA recently, I wish them the best.

Many African parents at home or in the diaspora, are often on the lookout for new books and other material they can use to teach their children good values and which features characters that look like them. The duo of Frank Edwards and Kelly Abel have come up with an idea for a series of books which I think is brilliant! And the fact that the artwork is so fresh and colorful will make it a double hit for children and parents, I personally love it. The first book in the series is “Jupiter Strong and The Lunch Lion”

It was from that mindset the Jupiter Strong series was born. Our goal is to create marketplace viable content, that children will love and parents will appreciate. Our focus with this series was to showcase images of African people in dignifying terms. The world of Jupiter Strong is our contribution to the rebuilding of the global African.

From our series, children will learn critical thinking skills, self love, communal responsibility and have fun doing it!

Each story is socially relevant, and pointed. The ongoing theme is Black love, Black family Pan-Africanism and the destruction of negativity.

Some other artwork that we've generated in support of our project are below. We realize that marketing a children's book is unique because you've got to appeal to parents, and children. The approach we've taken is to head on attack what we see as negativity, through an age appropriate lens. In example, we have several memes that reverse negative stereotypes into positive displays.

1. Child Support - It's a play on words, and although that term generally conjures up negativity...we've given an alternate view.
