Rivers State Governor Rotimi Amaechi Donates $100,000 To OJB
Gov of Rivers State,Rotimi Amaechi just approved the sum of 100.000.00USD,the total money expected to get Music Producer OJB the required medical treatment.
The move was made by Jazzman Olofin, who was said to have visited Mr. Femi Davies, a top journalist and online publisher, themetronews, to complain about the way the people around are treating the issue of the prolific producer/singer.
Miffed by the report given, Femi Davies, we were told, intensified effort to liaise with another top journalist, Mr. Wale Olaleye, This Day Political Editor and he was said to have asked Mr. Davies to come forth with a formal letter of request to be forwarded to Governor Amaechi.
As soon as the letter got to the embattled governor, we gathered that he signed it and ordered the state to pay as soon as possible.
As you are reading this, Governor Amechi’s State, Rivers, has finally restored the hope of the people who have rallied round the entertainer, OJB.
Though, there seem to be some rancor between the people in charge of the ‘Support OJB Team’ as some people are already deliberating on how to have their share of the money as soon as it arrives since Governor Amaechi has coughed out the whole money needed for the kidney transplant and there were previous donations close to N10m before now.
Thank God for his timely intervention…At least aside from being a Drama king,Governor Amaechi is a man with a good heart. More Blessing Sir!

Inasmuch as we will want to help save a soul, we should take steps to ascertain that the mite we donate actually gets to the cause. Last week, OJB went public with the information that he had severe renal problems. Unsurprisingly, the disclosure of his condition went viral in seconds, due to his fame and his invaluable contribution to the growth of Nigeria’s music industry.
He made it known that he needed the hefty sum of N15m to undergo a kidney transplant so he can stay alive. Some members of the public reacted to his financial need by mandating his colleagues in the entertainment industry to contribute the money he needs. And after much bashing by the public, the celebrities have indeed begun to donate what they can to aid him.
Don Jazzy was the first of them to avail OJB of N1m. Shortly after, it was reported that 2face Idibia, arguably the person who has benefitted the most from OJB’s musical ingenuity, had also donated N1.5m. They were followed by Mercy Johnson whose contribution was initially undisclosed but has now been revealed to be N500, 000.
On Thursday evening, P-Square and their brother-manager, Jude Okoye, upped the ante by presenting a N5m cheque to OJB. The Kukere master, Iyanya, gave N1m and Julius Agwu also gave N500, 000.
Others who have given are Ini Edo (N2m), Wizkid (N3m), and Davido, Olamide and MI (N1m each). The donations known thus far add up to N24.5m, more than is being sought.
Even as more and more celebrities are expected to chip in, Ghanaian actress Juliet Ibrahim has stirred the hornet’s nest by taking to Instagram to question why $100,000 is being sought for OJB.
According to Ibrahim, who claims to be knowledgeable about kidney disease because she has a kidney foundation, a kidney transplant doesn’t cost more than $50,000, half of what OJB is requesting.
Ibrahim added that she has asked those in charge of OJB’s fundraising to contact her foundation and that OJB’s representatives just have to reach out to the right people for the necessary intervention instead of harassing celebrities who have their own responsibilities.
She didn’t spare the public either, telling them to stop harassing celebrities to aid OJB as they too can support him with whatever they have, even if it’s just N1, 000.

Oriental Hotel in Lekki. Fortunately, the only thing damaged in the accident was the Porsche Panamera S car worth about N10m which he recently bought.
Wizkid and other passengers in the car were unhurt.
According to my paparazzi who witnessed the accident and took the photos, the accident was caused by a bust tyre. Wizkid, who wasn't the one driving, was quickly taken away in another car.

UNIBEN STUDENT SHOT IN THE HEAD AT SCHOOL SPORT COMPLEX
A 200level Mathematics student of the University of Benin known as Snazzy was shot in the head by an unknown gun man around 2pm yesterday afternoon during the biometrics registration held in the university sports complex.
Eye witnesses say the gunman dropped the gun and disappeared into the crowd before he could be identified. Snazzy was immediately rushed to the University of Benin Teaching Hospital. Don't know for sure if he died or survived. Will update as soon as I have confirmation.
