Justin Bieber In Trouble With Brazilian Police

19-year-old Canadian singer, Justin Bieber, was probably having fun and being a normal teenager when he sprayed graffiti on the outer walls of a hotel in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil, on Tuesday, while he was on tour.

The Brazilian police, however, did not find this even the least bit funny as such an act is punishable by jail time of up to a year, as stipulated by Brazilian laws.
In a statement released on Wednesday, the Brazilian police force said Bieber was charged with, “defacing a building or urban monument by graffiti or other means”. The force was unable to arrest the young celebrity after they were informed of his vandalism because he had left for Paraguay.
Sources close to Bieber defended the singer’s actions, saying he was encouraged by the locals and given the go-ahead by the City Hall but that they (City Hall) told him to do his graffiti on the wall of a sports facility nearby. Apparently, Bieber found the Sao Conrado hotel wall more appealing for his graffiti.
Reports say Bieber chose the hotel to put up his graffiti because he wanted to avoid his fans, even though the controversial graffiti read “Beliebers 4 Life”.
An spokesperson from the Brazilian police force has said that Bieber may be arrested if he ever tries to enter Brazil again. The Brazilian police don’t play; they just might do it.
2013 has been fraught with drama and a long line of faux pas for the young performer: from urinating in a cleaner’s bucket, to forgetting his pet monkey in Germany, to allegedly disrespecting Bill Clinton, throwing tantrums and showing up late for his concerts.
It’s tempting to excuse Bieber’s recent reckless streak and blame it on raging hormones and teenage exuberance, however, bad behaviour should not be excused.
